Cell phone companies may be planning to radiate your kids! Please take a moment and read on: Cell phone networks require the placement of towers every 2 to 6 miles to insure coverage. These towers emit microwave radiation that many doctors believe is dangerous. Medical studies indicate increases in brain cancer, leukemia, memory loss and impaired learning ability result from exposure.

Because they are under pressure to rapidly "build out" their networks, telecommunications companies have begun targeting schools for the placement of their towers. This fact places children all over the state at risk.

One example: in Ossining, NY, the local school board approved a  proposal by Sprint to place a cell tower on top of its only high school. Although the proposal was denied by the NYS Commissioner of Education, it was  reinstated when a US District Court Judge to force the placement of the tower on the school. A unified Ossining community has arisen to demand an end to this insanity, but the school board insists going upon ahead with the deal Ossining's adolescents now face daily exposure to this radiation for the duration of their high school careers.

Will your schools be next?

Cell towers have no place on our public schools. Please call or write yourlocal newpapers, State Legislators and the Governor to demand that they support the following amendment to Section 403-a of the NYS Education Law:

". No school property shall be sold, leased, or otherwise alienated, or used, for the placement and/or operation of any cellular transmission and/or relay facilities."
